Introduction:
People flourish when they can experience inner joy and happiness through being connected with life passions and meeting valued goals. We all craze having a flourishing life, but what is the secret formula for it? Research shows that growth mindset is a major component of this formula.
Growth mindset refers to the belief that one’s talents can be developed with effort, learning and dedication. In this lecture, Professor Chiu will illustrate with scientific evidence how cherishing this belief confers hope in the face of frustrating obstacles and supports perseverance despite disheartening failures, and thus enables people to relish in accomplishments through traversing the peaks and valleys of life. Professor Chiu will also recommend practices that can be performed to help the self and one’s families build a flourishing life in trying times.
